On 6 June 2026, Rugeley played host to the Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers National Competition, one of the most prestigious events in the town crier calendar. Rugeley’s very own Town Crier, Adrian Basford, hosted the competition alongside Rugeley Town Council‘s Charter Fayre, bringing together two brilliant community celebrations in the heart of the town.
Adrian asked me to be one of the official photographers on the day. I gave my time freely because these are exactly the kinds of days I love to preserve for future generations. I had the best time capturing the colour, noise, and community spirit of this special event.
